I was looking through pictures of the kids, and since it is Christmas time.. Here is a picture of Oakley a year ago! Oh, my look at my tank now! I can not believe how much he has changed.. But what a cutie he is!

So, since today was a very SLOW day.... I decided to get a topic out of the bucket and blog about it... and yes.. it was THINGS THAT MAKE ME SMILE!

Where do I start? I could go on and on about this.. So here GOES......

Harley and Oakley-

They make my day and I smile constantly
when with them.. even if they are being little

Family-I love my family, not only my close family
but the ones that do live far away and
I only get to see every once in a while..

Today at work, we.. Jazmine and I were on the phone and all of a sudden we see this 'something' fly through the air and then hear a POP. We both looked at each other thinking that Customer Support was throwing stuff at us.. (which they do alot) So, Jazmine gets up and starts laughing.. It seriously sounded like someone had shot something.. Here are some pictures of what really happened.!~(yes it happens alot.. we have the craziest fridge ever.. either it freezes stuff or does not get them cold!)

Most Wonderful time of the YEAR??

So this post is from one of the blogs that I read daily thanks to Jazmine! Sheena the author of this blog is one of Jazmines friends. She does some amazing posts! I seriously could not stop laughing when reading this.. Best wishes to all the workers in Customer Service.. Glad it is you and not me!


I was at my bi-weekly (this time of year sometimes tri-weekly) trip to my happy place, aka Target. But unfortunatley this trip ended on a not so happy note.

Before we get started here, may I please ask, what is it about this special, magical time of year that make people so grouchy/mean/horrible/down right ugly/insert your own adjective here?

I listened as the very new, very young cashier explained to the customer in front of me that this was his first day-and he kind of made a joke of it. She (the customer--we'll call her Sally) was not joking around here.

Tight lipped and veins bulging out of her forehead, she said "I'm in a hurry today."

Now I have a special place in my heart for Target cashiers, be it that I was once one myself. I felt for him as he tried to hurry and not make any mistakes.

Sally inserted her card, and thought she had paid. At the end of the transaction, the young nervous, broken out in a cold sweat, very new cashier said "how will you be paying today?"

"(explicits) I already thwiped my card!!!"

"excuse me?"

I THWIPED it!! I already THWIPED my card--and now it'th back in my purth!!"

Yes that's right, Sally, along with anger management issues, had a very bad lisp.

**disclaimer. it's not nice to make fun of people. normally I wouldn't make fun of someone with some sort of speech disorder. But, she crossed the line here with my friendly Target cashier, and should have known it would somehow come back to haunt her.**

Sally was out of control. She'd obviously had a bad day/week/life. Within only seconds she was yelling at Target Timmy.

"I'M PAYING WITH A CREDIT CARD. I ALREADY THWIPED IT. LET ME THPEAK WITH YOUR THUPERVISOR!!"

In the middle of her fit of rage, her son was getting a little restless.

"Carthon!!! Thit down!!! CARTHON!!!"

(please know that at this point, I was thtarring, I mean starring forward, eyes meeting no one (becasue half the store was starring at register 7) red faced, ears burning and REALLY trying hard not to even crack the slightest smile. )

The supervisor came over. Target Timmy was almost in tears. "I need help."

"I ALREADY PAID. I THWIPED MY CARD! I DON'T WANT TO GET IT BACK OUT!! CARTHON THIT!!!

"I'm sorry ma'm, we'll have to have you swipe your card again, or pay by another method."

"THIS IS RIDICULOUTH. (explicit explicit, lispy explicit) I AM IN A HURRY AND JUTH WANT TO LEAVE. CAAAARTHON!!! THALLY THOLD THEATHELLS DOWN BY THE THEATHORE!!" (ok well she might as well have. I really couldn't understand a word she was saying. It really was embarrassing for everyone.

After minutes of yelling at anyone who would look her way, Sally pulled out her card and payed again. It took seconds. Why hadn't she just done this in the first place?? Why are people so angry?

Let this be a lesson to you all. Before you take out your anger on the innocent little Target Cashier, take a look at who's around you. If it's some little girl with a cart load of happiness and two little kids--she may be planning her next blog around you--so watch what you say.

No one messes with my Target friends.

Cowboy?!

Harley was playing in her room the other day, and she got out the boots.. Well Oakley is on this kick with 'shoos'. He saw the red boots and wanted to put them on.. Yes they are a little big for him, so I tried to get him dressed and he wanted nothing to do with the clothes, he just wanted the boots on. I put them on him and Harley went and got the red hat to match! He was in Heaven! (then he found a stupid binkie... hate those!) I could not resist taking a picture of him..

New Year's Resolutions.....

Oh, Man.. this topic once again! This is one thing that I am going to try and stick to.. Here are some of mine....


1.) Loose weight.. Get skinny so I can actually look good in a swimsuit and be able to go to the pool with the kidlings!


2.) Stop Drinking pop. That means.... No caffeine, No carbonation and absolutely NO PEPSI... (dang!)


3.) Read the Book of Mormon all the way through.. (I can honestly say, I have never read it all the way through)


4.) Smile everyday! (you know... everyone smiles, some of us just forgot to tell our faces!)


5.) Become a better person... that means, be nice to everyone.. and no VERBAL VOMIT!


6.) Go to Church with my kids.. and the weeks that they are gone by myself.. EVERY WEEK!


7.) Go on at least ONE vacation... I was talking to Anita last night and I seriously have not been on a
REAL vacation since my SOPHOMORE year.. and that was to Disneyland!


8.) Make new friends!


9.) SAVE Money! thats a toughy.. especially when you are single and all your money goes to bills!


10.) Be Myself!

Family Home Evening

We have Family Home evening every Monday night at my mom and dads house. This week because Christmas is just around the corner, we decided that we would make Gingerbread houses.

I never knew how competitive Trent and Emily really were!

It was so funny to see them critique each others houses. Trent being the brick mason, had to make sure that everything was PERFECT! Emily was making fun of him because he had put beams in his house that that it would not fall down... Trent was making fun of Emily because she made a Snowman and it had a perfect face..(out of candy sprinkles.. one each for the eyes and mouth!) Very time consuming for the both!


Harley, I don't know exactly what she was trying to build.. but it looked like a bunch of walls! then she just piled them on top of each other. I think that I had ENOUGH candy for the whole year last night.. My gosh, am I on a Sugar high today! There is not a picture of my house on here.. as you can tell! I was SOO sick of making them that I hurried and through together a house and sat and watched. Oakley decided that he would eat all the candy off of my house! I was not paying attention and looked down and my windows were gone! Next thing you know.. Oakley was eating them! What a little stinker! Here are some pictures that I took with my phone so they may not be that good!

Saturday Night!

What a day! I could not tell you how bad I was ready to go out! I had been to see Santa with the kids and work, finish making a gingerbread house, That yes.. I did TWICE.. Let me tell you how excited I am for making another one tonight for FHE! (haha, lets laugh... I'm NOT!)

And trying to drive in SNOW... Why do I live in UTAH when I really dislike the white wet mess... (oh wait.. its because i have the most amazing family that lives here and what would i do with out them...)

Back to my topic...

I went out on Saturday night. It was so FUN... The people that escorted me throughout the night were SARAH... played softball with her in orem, and cant wait for the good times to come this next year for womens and coed! Yippee... =) Keith, he is this cool guy that I did meet online.. yes I said online.. We talked for a bit then this AWESOME guy named Chris, decided he should hit me up and talk to me.... Then there was Chris... He is amazing.. What is it with talking to these AWESOME guys online and then meeting them in person, and feel like you are on the top of the WORLD... Yes, Chris I met online too.. We totally hit it off and on Friday he decided to drive up from NO MANS LAND aka Moab and visit me..

Saturday was snowing like no other, If you ask Chris he will tell you he had 24 inches of snow.. and really it was like 4 inches! on his truck... It was a blizzard.. Wait... did I tell you that these guys, decided to drive up to GOD'S COUNTRY without coats!

Anyways, So we.. Sara and I meet up with them, in the snow, and try to decide what to do.. *Word from the now wise!* Make sure you have an idea of where you are going and what you really plan on doing when trying to find something to do in the SNOW!.... We get on the road and just start talking.. about everything.. okay. Chris, Sara and I were talking.. I have no idea if Keith really knows how to talk! sorry man!...

Temple Square.. Chris and I had talked about going to Temple Square and looking at the lights one of these times that he comes up this way.. So we head that way.... after driving around for parking.. for 20 minutes and going into underground parking and parking spots that expire within two hours.... We finally found one.. Yes we had to pay.. Question..... Why do you have to pay for parking in a stupid lot.. that is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard! Then.. because it was not snowing .. no one but Sara took a coat with them.... I had a big huge sweater, gloves and a scarf.. but the guys.. I think that they had to be MACHO.. and wear nothing.. Yes, I did bring them coats to wear so they would not freeze...

While walking around Temple Square, which Keith had never been to... It was amazing.. Just the view of the temple and walking through the visitors center.. it was seriously Precious! I know I am cheesy... but really.. It would have been better if they would have actually turned on the lights. not just the little trees but everything. I remember going at night and being able to see all the trees lit up.. what is it... we are trying to conserve energy? Really.....



Then to dinner it was.. another thing, trying to figure out... Then you had to decide if you wanted to find another parking spot or walk miles! So we drove to the OTHER end of the county and went to Texas Roadhouse.... Love that place! and if it was not for the Amazing Tiffany, we would have got there and waited for 2 hours to get in... but see some of us love the place and have the number in our phone.. for call ahead seating...





And then to a movie... Oh, wait.... Have you ever tried to find the HOT item 3 weeks before Christmas... I recommend you don't! that is another story that I can bore you with! Movie time.. I have not been to a theater in the longest time... I do recommend going to this show.. Yes it was good... it is not a chick flick so if that is what you want.. NADA! Hitman.. it was Spectacular! all I have to say is see it! (some may want to wait until it gets to the edited version!)

When asked what a pretty necklace and ring were she was like 'Duh, a Diamond necklace and ring' Okay I know that my child likes expensive things... Football Frenzee!

Yes, the big game was today! I really do not root for just one team.. but when I have to chose between Utah and BYU.. heck yeah.. BYU baby! All of my friends are big diehard Ute fans, so we made some bets! Yes, I am getting a whole bunch of dinners! They kept on saying that Utah was going to win... I was like whatever, you know that the real team will win! and whats up.... did I hear it correctly? BYU won again? Needless to say, I did watch the whole game with Mom and Dad.. and Granny and Grandpa. It was really fun and worth the mocking of my friends! Woohoo! good luck in the bowls... (yes, both teams!)

Thanksgiving Day!

Well, I had the kids for Thanksgiving this year. I was very greatful and happy to have them! It is one of my favorite times of the year.. then there is Christmas! But hey, we are in November, so it is Thanksgiving! So our day started out pretty lazy... I did not start getting ready until 11 or 12ish! Yeah, I was supposed to be to my moms house at 12 to get my relish tray done.. now that I think back on it.. I totally forgot to take the carrots! sorry!... So we had dinner at Aunt Debbies house.(in the room that we have all of the family gatherings! thanks Hales') I got to see some family that we don't see as often as I would like. So we had our dinner and then started to play a game.. Ok, the Garbe's are not game players! but this was a blast!(McLane, Ash, Whit, and Colin you so missed out!) We were each given 3 balloons to make a hat... Let me first say that the balloons were a PAIN to blow up and the pumps that we were given were not much help! So we all got our hats made, and told to stand against the wall. We all follow rules, except Oakley, he wanted to run around in front of everyone! So most of you know the game Musical Chairs.. well we kind of played that.... with hats! It was so funny to watch all of the grown men fight for a hat, and Tyson... what the...! He kept on jumping in the pile of balloons and popping them so others could not get one! but in the end, he was the real Winner!.... So.. here are a couple of pictures that I could get with my phone... Erika with a hat made into a neck brace.. she looked so funny walking around with it on.. And Uncle Chris, he was playing with Harley and she put it on him then he fell asleep.. the game must have worn him out!

I am Thankful for.....

I was sitting trying to think of all the things that I am thankful for... I could not just think of one, so here goes! you get them all.. well just some that came to the top of my head..(and Yes, I had to think!)

My kids- if I did not have my kids, where would I be? I would probably be some lonely young lady with no thrill in her life. What would I do without those Cheeto hands and messy diapers... Someone to have a conversation with in the middle of the night (Harley has been talking in her sleep and having full on conversations with me!) I would not be able to hear the little sweet voice at 6am saying 'Momma, Momma'. Without my kids I would not be able to say I am a MOM! Being a mom ROCKS!

Music- I am so thankful for Music in my life! with out it where would we have learned the Turkey song that Harley has been singing for weeks straight. I would not be able to turn my radio up in the car and watch through my rear view mirror Oakley dancing in his carseat! I would not be able to listen to all the different kinds... and yes, I have been listening to some music that I have always said that I would never listen to....

My messy house- Ah, the messy house. I am SO thankful for this... That just means to me that I have a loving family that I spend my time with! If I had a clean house I would not be able to take my kids to the park or read stories to them.(i would be cleaning my house instead of playing with the kiddos!)

Online dating- I am WAY thankful for online dating.. I know it sounds really crazy but I have met some pretty good friends on there! Without the online dating websites, I would have not met my best friend.. Yes, he did move back to Arizona(he says the land of the Gods, But hello! thats Utah!) But as you can tell, I meet alot of pretty cool people on there.. not only the guys, but I have met some girls too that I have become friends with...

The computer-I am thankful for the computer, what did we ever do in the days of Typewriters? Without the computer I would not be able to look at pictures of my family and friends that live far away.. Ah, what a great invention!

Smiles- Smiles are contagious and yes I am way thankful for them! I just wish everyone wore a smile!

Gasoline- I know, I know... Gasoline.. Yes, I am thankful for it.. I know it is way too expensive
but with out it where would we be? We would still be riding on the horse and buggy.. Not my favorite!

The Dollar Store- I dont know about you but I love the Dollar Store and I am way thankful for it.. I would not be able to get half of the stuff that is in my house without that store!
work- Work.. very thankful for it! I would not be able to support my family with out work! Not only a full time job, but work as in service work and helping others. I classify that as work!

Mike- I know..... what am I thinking... But really without Mike.. I would not have learned the lessons that I have and I would not have the most beautiful kids in the world.. I really am thankful for him!

Yams- Yummy! thats all I have to say!

My Large Family- I am so thankful for my family.. Not just my immediate family but my aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparens... I am so thankful that my grandma and grandpa raised 16 children.. without them I would not be able to have the family that I do. I have grown closer to my aunts and uncles than I would have ever dreampt about.. I know that I do not know some of my family as well as I would like, but those christmas parties with everyone is a great and eventful expierence!

Cell phones- what would we ever do with out these? I would not be able to save all the messages that Harley leaves on my phone on a daily basis and listen to them when they are at their dads, because I miss them and need to hear their voices!

Cameras- I am so very thankful for cameras... I would not be able to capture every moment that means alot to me without one.. My friends think that I am crazy because I carry one around at all times.. Heck.. I need the memories for the scrapbooks!

My Favorite Drink....

I have been thinking about this for a bit...

I would have to say that my favorite drink of all time, would have to be Crystal Clear Pepsi.. Yet they do not make it anymore. Remember the days when it was really cool to drink Pepsi, but it was clear and you could say you were drinking Sprite instead?
I have always wondered why they do not make it anymore. One year in school we had to write an essay and one of my friends sent Pepsi a letter asking them why the discontinued Crystal Pepsi. They said that they did not make any money. I for sure would buy it again..
Hello... I would not have to worry about Oakley spilling my 'brown' drink on my white shirt! Yes, I do know that it will still be sticky and crap. BUT I would not have that brown stain on my shirt or carpet! (yes, I know... My 1 yr old should not be drinking Pepsi!)
So now I would have to say that my favorite drink these days is just a regular, plain old Pepsi! If you ask me I am drinking the drink of the Gods! But you ask friends and I am drinking crap... They would rather see me drink Coke..
What the crap! that is just plain NASTY! (yet they do taste somewhat the same! lol) So, again... Pepsi Baby!

Dress up!

Harley and Erika were playing dress up on Monday at Nanny's house. Oakley was feeling left out, so here is what we put on him.. I could not let him get all dressed up like the others! He even wanted to put on the shoes and walk around. The one that I let him put on and wear was the Superman/Batman cape! I will have to get a picture with him in that! So cute!

Make Up!

Today I was getting ready for work and Oakley thought that he would to. He got into my makeup bag, got the Mascara out and started putting it on his face! He thought is was funny and when I started to clean him up, he was getting mad and trying to get the mascara again. Let me just say.. Monday mornings and trying to get him cleaned up and me ready, Oh, and Harley ready for school... Not a good day! But how can you resist this cute little Face!

My Baby and Me!

The other morning while I was getting ready for work, Oakley was playing with Harley's Baby! He decided that the baby needed to have his Binkie!
Not only did the baby need the binkie but he did too! and a diaper on the baby. I could not help from laughing and showing these pictures off!



He is my little man and it is funny to see him with a baby doll. I think that if his dad saw him with it he would die! He sits and pats the baby's bum and tells it to shhh... It is so Priceless!

My Best Friend

Well, since Tuesdays topic was 'My best friend' I thought that I would hurry and post it! I have had a couple days to think about this one.. and you would think it would be the easiest post to do.. BUT it is not.. Most people would say that their best friend would be their spouce.. Yeah, I would say that too... If I had one! =) oh wait, I did.... and then found out he is and was not my best friend. Other people would say that their friend from High school would be their best friend. And others would say that their best friend would be their dog....
Me.. My best friend would have to be my MOM.. need I say more? She is the best person ever... She would do anything for anyone, especially her kids and grandkids....
Then there is Harley.. She is my little 5yr old going on 16! She always wants to have mommy and me time.. and she will get it when she wants! (and when Oakley is down for a nap!) I can not wait till she is older and we can go shopping together.. Oh, wait.. we do that already.. She tells me if something looks good and if it doesn't match!

Beauty and the Beast!

Halloween 2007... Harley and Oakley were Beauty and the Beast.. Yeah, Oakleys costume looks like a Lion.. but if you look close, he does have a TUX on! These pictures were taken at work, so ignore the cubicals!


Can you see my face! and look at all that hair!~ Okay, I know the question is going to be asked.. So it took FOREVER to curl all of the ribbon for the hair! Lets just say HOURS! I am seriously considering putting this costume on eBay! What do you think!

The Perfect Day!

If I had a whole day to myself, I would probably take a day to the spa and wish I was out on the beach somewhere! I would get myself a massage, pedicure, my nails done, get my hair styled. A total pampered day.. I would even go shopping and give myself a treat! Wouldn't this be way nice.. then go home and just sit there and do nothing!
HAHA... a day to myself... yeah right, what is that!? These days a day to myself would have to be a day of cleaning the house, going grocery shopping, doing laundry, and if I am lucky... taking myself to go and get a drink... (oh yeah... no pop in this body, at least anymore... ) So what to go and get water! YummY!

These pumpkins are from the dollar store! What a buy! They are glass little pumpkins... I thought that was better than making the mess all over my kitchen carving pumpkins! Cheap and Easy! Yes! Hannah Montana!

I never thought that the day would come with a 5 yr old.... I was taking Harley to my moms before school and the radio station said something about Hannah Montana tickets. Harley said to me.... 'Mom will you please get me Hannah Montana tickets. I really want to go..' I was like, well we will have to see.. Lets see if we can WIN tickets! Haha.. yeah that got her to stop talking about it....

Worst Tv Show....

I could not decide but here are a couple of shows that are STUPID.. and I would classify the WORST.. I was going to say Jerry Springer, which is true.. it was stupid.. but here are a couple more! The Road Rules.. It is dumb.. who wants to watch a group of people travel on an RV? Stupid!


My Super Sweet Sixteen... It is on MTV.. I don't know why, but again.. It is STUPID... If you don't know... it is a bunch of RICH, Stupid and Snotty 16 yr old girls that think that they will have all the friends in the world if they hold this massive Sweet 16 Birthday Party.. STUPID!
