Card/Tag Exchange

So I do ALOT of following on my blog and/or GOOGLE Reader and Amy with The Happy Scraps is one of those GREAT people that I love to Follow! She has been doing a Handmade Card Exchange for a couple months now and I LOVE it! I used to do a card exchange once a month with my mom and sister in law and AbSoLuTeLy miss it! So when Amy started this, I had to jump in! (I don't know why I do the cards, because I HATE giving them away because they are so cute!) Here are a couple of my favorites from the 1st month. There was not a theme for October.

In November we had a theme.... Thank You! Who would have picked a better theme for the cards in November! Again, I got a handful of cards and fell in love with them as well. I hate using these cards!

For the month of December, Amy is doing a Tag exchange... I have the cutest idea and cant wait to get started on them! If you are interested in joining (there are people all over the US that join! Christmas Decor

I have had so much fun decorating our house and getting it ready for Christmas! As some of you know I am ADDICTED to Pinterest! Love that place! Not only am I an Addict to Pinterest, I am an Addict to The Wood Connection! I love all the ideas that I can find in both places.

My Santa that I have (sitting on a chair) is getting ready to go on my front door. Hopefully the wind will be nice this month so I can hang it and it wont blow off.. (Dang Spanish Fork wind!)

Oh my topper! I went to a craft fair over Thanksgiving weekend and saw this Hat and sat there for about 15 minutes deciding what I would do with it.. The lady that was selling it was laughing at me and said that she has the green one and put it on her tree. I could only imagine how it would look on mine! It would make my tree look bigger than it is.. (Note: In our old house we couldnt have a very tall tree because the ceilings where a little low... Now in the new house we have vaulted ceilings and it looks extremely small!)

So after buying my hat, I went and got me a bunch of ornaments to match it. I love Red and Black, so that on my Christmas tree was PERFECT!

I LOVE stars!... Thanks again to the Wood Connection!

JOY... again another Wood Connection Craft! Oh how I love that place, Thank goodness it is in SL and not in Utah County! I would be POOR!

On Pinterest, there was a picture of a window that had ornaments hanging from it. I have the perfect window! Add some Tulle and Tada!

Blog Stalking Recipes!

So I have been trying to make dinner every night (not just pb&j or ramen noodles!).. And try new things. I blog stock this blog called Kevin & Amanda, She has posted some recipes that I SOOOO want to try! Well tonight, I did one.. Mine did not turn out as BEAUTIFUL as hers, but it was sure tasty... AND all the kids (Harley, Oakley and Erika) scarfed it down!

*I did not take pictures of mine, because I was to busy making dinner and chasing around an 8 month old.. so I borrowed this from the blog I got it at!*

Cheeseburger Macaroni

This delicious, incredibly cheesy dish is another one of our favorite weeknight dinners. It’s beefy, hearty and whips up in less than 20 minutes. Hope you love this one as much as we do!

Start with one pound of lean hamburger meat, browned and drained.

Add a package of taco seasoning.

And one can of this. The good stuff.

You don’t even have to bother to drain it!

Gosh, I really like Rotel.

Add two cups of beef broth.

(You can also just use water if you want.)

And one cup of elbow macaroni. You’ll be glad you did.

By the way, I’ve tried other shapes of pasta in this recipe, and none of them seem to work as well as good old macaroni. Gotta love it.

Stir to combine, and heat to boiling. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 12-14 minutes until the macaroni is tender.

Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add 2 tablespoons of flour.

Whisk to combine, and continue to cook, whisking until the roux is fragrant and light brown in color, about 5 minutes.

Whisk in 3/4 cup of milk.

And bring the sauce to a boil. Whisk until smooth and thickened.

Remove the saucepan from the heat, and add 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

Whisk until melted. Heaven help me.

Now one last step for the sauce, this stuff needs some seasoning! Add 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper. I love this seasoned salt and pepper.

Here’s what your hamburger and noodles should look like after 12-14 minutes. Don’t worry if there’s still some beef broth in there. You may want to taste test a noodle for doneness at this point.

If you like it, go ahead and pour in the cheese sauce and stir gently to combine.

Glorious! Beef. Cheese. Rotel. Taco seasoning. Does it get any better than this? Enjoy!

Cheeseburger Macaroni

1 lb lean hamburger meat
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 can Rotel tomatoes and green chilies (or petite diced tomatoes)
2 cups beef broth (or water)
1 cup elbow macaroni

Brown and drain hamburger meat. Stir in taco seasoning, Rotel, beef broth, and macaroni. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and cover pan. Simmer 12-14 mins until macaroni is tender.

Meanwhile, make the cheese sauce….

2 Tablespoons butter
2 tbsp flour
3/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the flour and cook, whisking for 5 minutes until fragrant and light brown in color. Whisk in the milk and bring to a boil. Whisk until smooth and thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Add the salt and pepper to the cheese sauce. Pour the cheese sauce over the hamburger mixture. Stir gently to combine.

Serves 4.

I can't do a post about the older kids and not put a couple pictures of B on here! He is now 8 months old and weighs 23 lbs! CRAZY I know.. where has time gone?! He is the happiest baby I have ever seen! I thought Harley and Oakley were happy, but B is SOO Happy! And how can you not say NO to this face?! yes, he is climbing up and walking around the couch...

1st day of School....

I had to go through TWO days of FIRST days! Not the funnest! Here are some pictures of the kids on their first day of school.. Harley is now in the THIRD grade, and loving it.. She is meeting new friends, since she is the NEW girl at school! Oakley is in Kindergarten and is in the same class as his friend at daycare. They get to ride the bus to and from school, which is nice but in a way not.. Harley started school last Monday, and Oakley today... Oak has been asking for a week when he gets to start school.. He has been so excited! Today I asked him if he was excited to go and he said..."I am excited for tomorrow... Because I get to ride the bus with Berklie!" WHAT? not the first day of school, but the bus?!
I have to laugh.. sorry if you are one of these parents... There was a couple parents (okay really one while I was there..) that was crying because her BABY was going to school.. Me? I couldn't be happier! Oak's school is during B's naptime, so that means ME time.. (on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays!) Well I was helping Oakley get his bag in the right place today, we put the bag on the hook and he said..."Okay mom... You can go now.. bye..." Wow, Mr. Independent! Glad that he is ready to go to school and actually liking it!
Harley is another story! She has loved school since Pre-school.. and has always been excited to go.. This year, not as much. She has fun, but she says that it is boring.. I am thinking that she will grow out of the boring school stage, and it is just because she is new to the school, and only has a couple friends (luckily a couple of those couple are in her class!) Well, Ill be done with my NOVEL and let you check out pictures.. For those couple of you that actually read my blog!

I am not big on making breakfast for my kids before school because we are always in a hurry to get ready and off to work and daycare, that they get cold cereal... BUT since my day off is Mondays, I thought that I would make them Crepes!

Yes the Decorating has started. I have been wanting to make a Book Wreath for a long time now, and finally sat down and did it.. It was fun to have Harley helping me rip out pages. Who would have thought that ripping pages out of books, when you have been told your whole life to not do it, was so much fun!? So this is my first of many projects for the new house! Enjoy!

I'll go inside someday...

Oh yeah! That day was July 21, 2011. On that day, I chose to go and take my endowments out. I can not express in words how Thankful I am for my Family, examples in my life, and my Husband. With out their support I would not be where I am today. I am so thankful for having the Gospel in my life and temples so close to my house that I can go to.

Fiesta Days 2011

The kids got to participate in the Children's Parade this year. Every year they are at their dads house on the weekend before Fiesta Days, so they dont get to participate. They were so excited to be able to walk in the parade with our new ward. The theme this year for Fiesta Days was the Place 2 Be. In our ward they chose to have their place to be as the Beach, so they all go to go in their swimming suits and pretend to be on a beach! Here are the kids after the parade.

Here is Brighton during the Children's Parade. He loves his stroller and being able to watch what is going on! Check out the sideways hat! (he moves it to that position!)
Every year we go and watch the Parade. This year Mom and Dad were incharge of the Parade. It was not the same with them not sitting by us. Not only them, but Trent and Tyson were helping with the line up at the top of the street, Emily had to work, Erika and Lexi where in California with their Nanny and Papa Smith, and Adam had to work. So it was just us and a couple of our cousins. Here are the kids with their NEW flag shirts.. (thanks to procrastination I finished them minutes before we had to leave for the parade!) Didnt they turn out so cute!
This is what happens when there is a Parade going on during nap time! Brighton was getting sleepy and didn't want to lay down. Who would when there is so much going on!? Next thing I know, he was asleep sitting in my lap! What a stinker!

Muttin Bustin 2011

This year during the Rodeo, Oakley and Erika were old enough ride the sheep. They have been talking it up for weeks and were so excited to go! In Spanish Fork, you can ride the sheep at age 5. They do Pre-Rodeo and Rodeo. This year they were in Pre-Rodeo. Hopefully next year they will be able to ride in the show! Erika was first to ride and was a little scared.. Okay she cried, but she was a trooper and rode anyways. Oakley did a really good job, once off the sheep he was supposed to stand and wave his hat, but did it sitting down! Kyler, Oakleys friend from our old ward, rode it backwards, fell off face first into the dirt and did a good job as well! Congrats to the Muttin Bustin-ers! You did good! 2010 Flag Burning Ceremony

Every year Sp. Fork has a flag burning ceremony put on by the city council and the area 'Service Men'.. We went as a family and let me tell you .... It was AmAzInG... I have been the last couple years and for some reason tonight was way different... Oh that is because my lil brother that is in the Army, was there with us.. ( He is here on leave for a couple more weeks..) I tried to get a few pictures of him, when they played the Army song, and he had to stand... when they asked all Service Men to stand.... Oh countless times! Well, Here is one of my favorite pictures of him...

Okay, Sorry in advance... This is going to be a LONG post!

As some of you have already known... we have MOVED! (yesterday to be exact!) We moved from a two story house, to a one story...a house that still had ORIGINAL CARPET, LINOLEUM and LIGHT FIXTURES to new flooring, a Modern feel to it and another BATHROOM! There are many things that I am going to miss about living at 335... Especially those neighbors to the West of us! Craig and Jodi you will be missed!
We have built many memories at our "FIRST" house as a family! I will always remember the memories that have been made, but time to move on and make more memories!

Things that I Will and WONT miss!!
This is house 335...
I will NOT miss the BUSHES in the Front yard... Those things are DUMB! Who thought of planting them??

The Family Room..
Oh the CHANDELIER... How I am so Glad that you will not be in my Family Room anymore! Oh and those Hooks on the wall... (There used to be, and now back up, Curtains... Yes Original Curtains... The ones with the LONG cords to open and close them!)

The Front Door...
Can't say I am gonna miss the RAINBOW that was made on my carpet... BUT I am sure NOT going to miss, the BIG door that was a Pain to open!

The GREEN SHAG CARPET..
Not gonna miss you either! I have taken pictures and people think that I am taking them outside... Hello! Nope that was my carpet not grass! lol =) The original carpet needs to go!

RED/ORANGE Shag Carpet..Don't get me wrong... It goes good if you have a CARS room!

The good old Cubby/ Hiding Place
This WILL be missed! Loved having a place in a bedroom to store all my blankets! And the kids will miss their favorite Hiding place!

ONE SMALL BATHROOM
So glad that we NOW have two!!

Master Bedroom
Squeeky floors, Small room (that a queen bed, BARELY fit in...) Not gonna miss you... I wont give up my HUGE Bedroom, Walk in Closet and Nice Bathroom to go back to you!!

The Bookshelf..
This is another one that is going to be missed... We have TONS of books, and now I need to get the kids each their own Bookshelves...

The Blue Room..
The carpet, will be missed by Harley... Blue is her FAVORITE color... But not the small closet! I think she enjoys her walk in closet!

Storage Room..
AGAIN... This will be missed... I could put all my food storage in this, and keep bottled waters cold...

2nd Family Room...
Not gonna miss the RUG Carpet... 'Nuf said!

These are some of the things that will be missed and wont! Dont get me wrong, we did love living there (sometimes)... I am really going to miss the ward and the friendships that I have made there.. Thank you First Ward! You are awesome! BUT I am also thankful for a new house with a MODERN style to it... A place where I can decorate and make it my HOME instead of somewhere that will only let me put 3M hangy things on the walls that DONT stick! I am also thankful for a place to start new memories, a place where my kids will have kids their ages next door, and a place for us to build new friendships...

How many of you do food storage? I have thought a lot about it the last month or so (Since I have been on Maternity Leave...) I was thinking that when I get back to work, and can start putting 30-50 dollars into food storage a paycheck, I will be happy...

THEN... I get a book in my mailbox yesterday.. My ward, well the Relief Society made a book on Food Storage.. It is a week by week Food Storage Plan.. I was so EXCITED when I saw it.. How did they know that I was in need of a way to get started on this!? This book is a weekly plan for a year to get your food storage up. They say that if you follow this plan, you will have your storage up, and be in the groove and can continue to build it..

SOOOO.. I am going to share with YOU! I figured I would pass this information on with you! I will be doing a weekly post on what to buy for the next week.. =) I know you are as excited as I am, right?
Well before I start I want to share some of the Info from the front of my book...

THE PREPARED-IN-A-YEAR PLAN

The First Presidency has counseled us to prepare for adversity by getting out of debt and having a 3-month emergency savings. They have also advised us to do the following:

1. Save a small 3-month supply of items that are part of our normal, daily diet. These must be rotated often.

2. Store drinking water; this can be done for any size family by getting 2 50-gallon containers and sanitizing with food-grade(35%) hydrogen peroxide.

3. Save up a larger 1-year supply of food that will last a long time and can be used to keepy your family alive such as wheat, beans and rice.

Suggested Supply for 1 Person/1 Year

Grains (wheat, oats, etc): 400 lbs. (72#10 cans)
Dry beans, peas, etc: 60 lbs. (12#10 cans)
Powdered milk: 16 lbs. (4#10 cans)
Sugar or Honey: 60 lbs. (10#10 cans)
Cooking Oil: 10 quarts
Salt: 8 lbs.

*If you follow this week-by-week plan, you will get very close to storing that which Church leaders recommend for a family for one year. Please plan to purchase items for each week in quantities that suit your family size.

Okay, so I have been watching my nieces a couple days a week while I have been off on Maternity leave.. I finally found what I have been looking for... It only took me more than 10 months! You would think that with a new baby coming, you would have the room all together?.. Um no... Not me! I have been looking at cribs online everywhere. KSL has been my first place to look.. One day after having Brighton I was looking online and saw this crib.. It had only been up for 10 minutes, and was $35.. Who would get rid of a crib for that? This crib, I have seen online and loved it, so when I saw it.. I had to call! I was the first one that called.. The guy even met me in Orem.. (he lives in downtown SLC..)

Harley got little Pixie from Nanny and Papa for Christmas.. She is the happiest girl ever! Nanny has been teaching her how to sew and their first project was Basic Pillowcases... Harley is having a blast making pillowcases.. She has made these two which are hers and Oakleys.. She made one for her cousins Lexi and Erika. AND her best friend Tessa and her brothers! She thinks that she is going to make a ton more and sell them.. Ill keep you posted on that!

Your idea of the perfect first date

Well personally I think I had the BEST first date ever!
I never thought that I would ever have a first date with the one that I had a HUGE, I mean HUGE crush on in High School! So here is my story... (the short version!)
In High School, I had a huge crush on Adam. Come to find out, he had a crush on me too.. But we were both to scared to ask each other out on a date.. Haha! So, after graduation, things went on and we both went our separate ways..

9 years later....

I was on Facebook one night and had a suggestion saying 'people you may know' He was a mutual friend to one of my friends on FB.. So I then requested him as a friend and sent him a message.. Just seeing how things were going and how he was.. A couple days went by and again, I was on FB and so was he... We started talking and gave each others numbers out.. Another couple days went by and he text me. We talked for awhile and then set a date for a first date... We met and went to get a drink.. (Why in good old SF is 'GETTING A DRINK' the cool thing to do!?) I had to cut it short, because the kiddos were at their dads, and I had to go and get them... SO... A couple days later, we ACTUALLY went on a date... Who would have guessed that we went to my favorite restaurant...

After eating, we went back to his house and watched a movie.. ( I think that it was Knocked Up or Superbad.. yeah we had many to choose from!) It was just nice to sit and catch up on life and what we both had done in the last years..

and yeah, after a long story, because I know you all wanted to hear how we actually met and started dating after 9 years, what we did for a first date!

Beef Stroganoff

Peanut Butter Cookies

Day 2..
I totally forgot to take a picture of what I ate today, so I grabbed it off G.. Good old Google! So one of my favorite meals is Beef Stroganoff.. I cheat and buy the Hamburger Helper, instead of making it from scratch. Then... I had a craving, and made Peanut Butter Cookies... I got this recipe from Tiffany that I work with and totally LOVE it! My family eats them up with in a day... Yeah, good thing I don't make a TON!!
So since I love the recipe, I thought that I would share it with you!

1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1/2 cup Shortening
1/2 teas Salt
2 Tbls. Milk
1 egg
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Sugar
1 teas. Vanilla
1 teas. Baking Soda
1 3/4 Cup Flour

Mix and roll into balls.. Roll in sugar. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
ENJOY!!

Well since today is Monday, and it officially just started... Since I am up LATE and Blogging... I will tell you how my Sunday went! It was a pretty good day.. Got to sit home and chill with my baby boy and hubby... Harley and Oakley were at their dads for the last day of their weekend there, so the house was pretty quiet.. I don't think straight when it is dead silent, and I am not being asked a million questions a day! Since it was Sunday, we also went to Nanny and Papa's house to visit.. Pretty uneventful, but it was nice to get out of the house..
Sweet.. Day 1 down.. 29 more to go!

Saturday was Adam's dads 63rd birthday. So we all went to the cemetery to let go of some balloons and wish him a 'Happy Birthday'. I never had the chance to meet Gary personally but I know that I would have loved him like my own dad. I am so thankful for Gary and the way he raised his family. He has given me so much, and does not even know how much he means to me. Just wanted to give a shout out and say Happy Birthday Gary. We love you!

Brighton was born on Monday, December 27th... He weighed in at 8lbs 10oz and 20 inches long.. Baby B came at 7:20pm! We love him so much! His brother and sister can't get enough of him!

After I got home from work today, we took the kids to the Jr High and let them sled down the hill. It is a pretty good hill.. Every time we drive by there are a ton of kids.. Luckily today there was only a couple, so the kids had a blast!

SNOW DAY!

Today we had a SNOW DAY! We got about 24 inches of snow at our house. I woke up this morning to the police outside STUCK in the road and having people pull him out! Adam told me that I was not going to make it to work.. Hello! I have to! I only work one day this week so I needed the time and no one else was there! So we drove to Springville in 4-wheel Drive.. On the way there, my dad called and told me that they have canceled school... WHAT? I never got a snow day! Harley started crying. She wanted to go to school to have a party and give her teacher her Christmas present.. Needless to say in the end, she had a good day!
Here is my car.. Snowed in!

Oakley on top of the car. He was going to sled down it... (or at least Adam wanted him to!)
Adam threw Harley in the air and let her fall into the snow.. Then threw snow on top of her.. She was having so much fun!

Oak's Pre-school Program

Oakley's Preschool class had a Christmas Program last week. They went to the Assisted Living Center in Spanish Fork. Oakley was so excited to be able to sing his songs for Nanny and the rest of us! Then the time came and he was to go and sing... The tears started coming! He sat in the back and cried. DID not sing a single song or participate in anything. I thought it was actually kind of funny. But he didn't!

So besides Oakley not singing at all, there was a BOY and a GIRL that were fighting most the time. We could not stop laughing! It was so cute and funny... The girl must not have wanted to be by the boy or have him even sing.. She kept on hitting him and pushing him away. The teacher would move her more to the left, and she would go right back to him and hit him.. Oh the joys!
Then there was my niece Erika.. She was so cute. They got to hand out a card and a candy cane to the residents. Erika gave it to this little lady and she gave her a big hug, then the lady gave her a kiss. It was so cute! (Yes, Oakley would not give a card to anyone, he wanted it for himself)

New obsession!

A few weeks ago, one of the girls that I work with was telling me about this blog that she found. I had to go to it and see for myself! I shouldn't have! I find myself going there to find different things to my house, and things to make for my kids! It is my new addiction! She does step by step tutorials on how to make and alter clothing, re-purpose clothes, make different things for your home, things for baby... She also has recipes and a cake series.
I even showed Adam the blog and told him that I wanted to do a few different things at our house. So the blog that I go to is called Makeit-loveit.com She does some amazing things! Here are some of the things that I want to do while I am off on Maternity leave!

Make a new shower curtain for our bathroom. The one that we have right now, is from when the kids and I lived in our own house in Spanish Fork.. Umm lets say forever ago!

Another project that I am going to do is...
Make my room over! We wanted to refinish the headboard.. make it black and then I am going to make new pillows and curtains! I love what she did to her room, and have inspiration! The red pillow on the bed is made out of a SWEATER... yes I said a sweater! I have a gray one that I am going to use, and make one for myself!
Our bedroom needs new curtains! We are using the ones that came with the house, so what they are like 50 yrs old!
I also want to make my living room more my house that a rented room! I love pictures, and think that I am going to do something like this... I have a MILLION frames in my garage from over the years, and I am going to have some fun!
Yes, I know it is alot! I may be working my whole maternity leave to do what I want... Good thing I know how to sew! I will keep you all posted on how my journey is doing!

I have been wanting a cover for the car seat since I will be having Baby B in December! I looked around and found some material that I wanted. Yes, it was Boston Red Sox and was $14 a yard... Um no! So a lady at work was telling me about a blanket that she bought from Walmart for $12 for both pieces of flannel. I had to go and get it... (there was not any at the store, so she sold me one of hers!) Thanks Chris! So on Saturday night, I read a tutorial about how to make one.. I kind of made up my own... So here is the finished project.

I didn't want it too girly, so I only used white ribbon to tie it on..

So last summer... 2009... I started working on my table and chairs. I bought them off of KSL.com and wanted make them mine! I started with sanding them down and then painted them. I wanted them to be a little worn, so that's what I did! We have been using the table since we have been married, with chairs that DID not match. Yeah, we were a little ghetto!
Well this week I have been a little on the crafty/sewing mood and I got it all done! I finished the chairs, recovered them in material that I have had for almost a year... and then with the extra I made a table runner to match..

WELL.....

I have a 4 year old that heard that song one night driving home and said to Adam and I... "I wanna kiss a girl.." Hello, he is 4 yrs old! I looked at Adam and started laughing.. I then said to Oakley.. "You wanna kiss a girl?" He looked at me like I was crazy.. and said "Yes MOM... Her name is Sara and she is PREEETTY!" (Okay really... he is going to be the death of me...)

So this Sara girl... I started asking a ton of questions.. here is what I found out...

Sarah....
*Has blonde hair
*Some days it is curly and some days she wears it straight..
*She is in his Pre-school Class
*wears skirts.... alot (I can ask him on a daily basis what she wore to school and he will tell me how pretty she was and if she was wearing pants or a skirt.. How her hair was, and what colors she had on!)

We are seriously going to have a Fantasic time with this one... Lets hope he grows out of it!

So with the baby coming in less that three months... I have been looking at things that I really wanted... People have asked me what I need/want... Here are some of my 'Wishings'!

1. Moby Wrap
I have seen a couple ladies at the clinic come in with these and think that it is pretty neat! One lady said she used it forever with her last child. She said that she can do pretty much anything, and can still do her housecleaning, while holding her baby! Check it out!

2. The Bobby
I had one of these with both my kids and totally loved it! I didnt have the choice of taking a cover off of mine so that I could wash it... Back then it was you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!

3. Booster Seat
I know that I am going to need a Highchair/Booster Seat, and have looked around and think that I will prefer one that I can put at my table. Its gonna be a space saver! I also like the idea of having one throughout the years, something that will grow with my baby!

4. Diaper Bag
I know everyone wants a fun Diaper bag.. I have found just the one that I want... Now I just need to find the fabric, and either make it myself or pay someone to make it!This bag is perfect. It has a TON of pockets, both inside and out.. Who could not use this!? My friends mom has a personal sewing business and this is the one she made. I had to steal the picture! Thanks Shannon, love the idea!
These are a few of my things that I want! Yes, I still want to find the perfect Crib, bedding, carseat, stroller and all that stuff.... Maybe next post will be about that!

Tonight I decided that I was going to make some bread! I have had some peaches and bananas that if I didnt use, they were going to go bad... I got a Banana Bread recipe from a friend and wanted to try it out. I went to my FAVORITE website.... allrecipes.com and put in Peaches.. the first recipe that came up was a Peach Bread. So now I am going to share with you!
Banana Bread

Recipe:
5 Large Bananas
4 Eggs
1 cup shortening
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Brown Sugar
3 1/2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
Walnuts if wanted
Beat Bananas into a liquid. In a separate bowl cream eggs, shortening, and sugars. Beat until fluff. Add Banana's, baking soda, and salt. Blend flour into batter. Stir in Walnuts. Place into well greased pans. Bake at 300 for 1 hour.

Peach Bread

3 Eggs
2 cups Sugar
1 tsp. Baking Powder
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup Vegetable Oil
2 cups Diced Peaches(canned)
3 cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Soda
3 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 cup Walnuts (optional)
In a large bowl beat the eggs lightly. Blend in sugar, oil and Vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix just to combine. Stir in peaches and nuts. Pour into greased pans. Bake for 1 hour at 350
** I used fresh peaches**

Harley turns the BIG 8!!

Harley turned 8 today! I can not believe that my little girl is 8 yrs old.. Where has the time gone? Since she is at her dads house this weekend for her birthday, we decided to celebrate it on Sunday.. (Adam was also leaving out of town for the week for work, so it worked out perfect) We have been asking her for weeks what she wanted and she had a list... 1. American Girl Doll 2. Gift Card 3. Ipod 4. Converse High Tops 5. Scooter

Spanish Fork Fire Department does a 'Duck Race' every year. It is a blast for the kids to go down and watch the ducks come in. They have been doing it for a few years and this year someone in the family ACTUALLY won!
It was not the BIG prize, but Harley was excited to say she won!

Spanish Fork has been doing a Flag Burning Ceremony for 12 years now. This was my first time ever going. I now think that it is going to be a family tradition. Since we do not have the kids on the 4th of July, we decided that we would do something fun! So before tickets went on sale, and Members of the BYU club or whatever you call it, could buy tickets... Tracie and I bought some. (Way back in MARCH!)
Anyways, we had a blast at Stadium of Fire... I have not been since 6th or 7th grade when Jay Leno came... Lets say boring! This time was way fun. (except for being pregnant, and having some jerks in front of us, recline back in the seats that they had, which gave us NO room....)
So here are some pictures!

This first one is of my Sister-in-law Robyn and nephew Taylor... they were sitting behind us and to the right.. Pretty far back... Decided we would take a picture of them!

Oakley's Birthday is not officially until Saturday, but since it is his dad's weekend, I decided to celebrate it this weekend! I can not believe that my baby is going to be 4.. Oh, how time flies! So here are a few pictures of his birthday party....

Mothers Day Presents

For Mothers day the kids made their Grandmas... (Nanny, Grammy, Granny and Grandma Judie) some Mothers day gifts.. I saw this idea in a Family Fun magazine and could not resist making it.

First you need a frame... bought it at Joann's!
Next you need some toilet paper rolls... this we have been collecting for about a month...
You need some paint... (you should have seen our hands after painting these!)

Well, I decided that I did not have very many pictures of my kids! Okay, I do have a ton, but it was time to blog, and I just took them out the other day and got a couple shots! (really, I got about 200...) I thought that I would show them off! I think that these two are the most beautiful kids ever! What would I do with out them?

For Family Home evening last Monday, the Family got together to make some signs for Tyson's arrival to SPANISH FORK! The kids had so much fun drawing on the paper and making little notes for Tyson, Lauren and Jordan.

Oakley wanted so bad to sit and trace the letters with me, he was so funny. He would not leave my side.

On Wednesday it was the BIG day that we all got to see Tyson! Harley was so excited when Nanny went and got her out of school, so she could watch the ONE MAN Parade!
(In Spanish Fork, the Fire Department, Police and Ambulance escort the Army, Marines and National Guard to their home when they arrive back from War.) So Tyson was being escorted by lights and sirens.

Let me tell you... It was so touching to see some of the people that stop on the side of the road and get out of their cars, to waive to them when they pass. People that do not even know the soldiers, get out and show their respect.

When the escort took Ty to Mom and Dads house, it was right when the schools were getting out. And as some of you may know my parents live right by the Jr High. So it was BUSY! People were stopping to tell Tyson Thanks for his Service... People that did not even know him! It is amazing how much respect He got from the Community.

While we were saying our Hellos, the community television station came by and interviewed him.

NEW JOB!!

On a Friday in January, I got a text message from my mom saying to call her asap. I though that it was something urgent, so I hurried and took a break and called her to see what was up. She said that I needed to call Mark at the Art City clinic because he called and wanted to know if I was still interested in a job as a Phlebotomist. I called him back and he asked me if I could come in for an interview with him on the next Monday. I went to work on Monday, all dressed up and all the people at my job were wondering what I was doing. I told them that i had to meet with the Tax guy. ( I know I should not lie, but I did not want them to know that I was going for a job interview, incase I did not get it.)
So I got to the clinic and talked to Mark about the job. He offered it to me right then! Sweet! I was so happy, He told me to talk it over with my husband. I said that I did not need to do that! I accept! I then started the next day!

I now have been at Art City Medical for over a month and am totally loving it. I get along great with the other staff!

New mode of Transportation!

On Saturday the 6th, It was a really nice day and Adam wanted to go for a ride. We loaded the kids and Tessa in the Tahoe. Adam asked me if it was okay if we go and just LOOK at trucks. It was so good outside, that He wanted to just drive around and take a LOOK. He was not going to actually purchase anything that day. I said okay, that is fine, lets go and take a look. We drove to the couple places in Spanish Fork, and they did not have anything worth looking at. So we drove to American Fork to take a look.. Yes I know we went across the county, without stopping in between! We then went to Low Book Sales and saw a truck that we really liked. Adam test drove it and it was not exactly what he was wanting. He told the salesman, and the gentleman said that he had a newer truck in the SLC lot and they could bring it down here.

Adam took us home, because by this time it was going on 3 hours. The kids were getting bugged that they could not do anything. Adam then went back to the dealership and test drove the truck that they brought down. He fell in love with it. ( Our friends just bought a truck a few months ago, and Adam has loved it. He wanted something like theirs.) This truck was just like our friends, just a different year. He said that he would take it. Signed all the papers and said that he would be back on Monday to get it! (The salesman said that he could take both the Tahoe and the Truck home over the weekend, but how is a man supposed to get two vehicles back on Monday?!)

Monday came, and the kids were so excited that we were getting a new truck. Remember, I have not seen the truck before, just heard about it! We got home on Monday after work and Daycare, and saw the truck and LOVED it! On Tuesday, Adam took the truck to work to show his friend that he works with. Harley got up for school and cried because we did not get to take the truck. She wanted to get dropped off to school in it! I had to laugh because she will be getting a ride to school in it every day, because Adam drives the car to work! What is one day!?

I do miss the Tahoe, but love the Truck!!

John L. Davies Jr

Grandpa Davies lived a long and wonderful life. He was the father of 16 kids, grandfather of 53 and great grandfather of 51. He was a amazing man, and will be greatly missed. We know that he is in a better place and enjoying being with his wife again. He has waited for the day that he could see her again.

Grandpa passed away on February 11, 2009 a week after his 84th birthday. He touched many people in his life. He had a love for horses and made sure that they were always taken care of.

Obituary

'John Lewis Davies Jr. passed away on Feb 11, 2010 at the home of his daughter Sandra Lucas. he was born February 3, 1926 in Huntsville, Utah to John Lewis Davies Sr. and Emma Veneta Nielson. He was the oldest of 9 children. He moved with his family to Hillspring Canada in 1930 where he attended school and graduated in 1944. he excelled in basketball and track. he held the record in the 400 meter for many years. He enlisteds in the United States Army in 1945. He later joined the 11th Airborne and was the first in his family to fly in a plane. John returned to Utah County in 1946 and started working at Geneva Steel where he was employed until his retirement. he met Lila Margene Brailsford and they were married November 15, 1946 and later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They settled and lived most of their lives in Mapleton. They had 16 children. John was active in the LDS church where he served with the youth, served in two Bishoprics and served as High Priest group leader. He also served for many years at the Provo temple. John loved horses, hunting, the outdoors and spending time with his family. He instilled the importance of hard work in all of his children.
He was proceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and his dear wife of 48 years. he is survived by all 16 children. Kathy Davies, Sandra and Max Lucas, Lila and Larry Cotten, Anne and Gerry Frederick, John and Cheryl Davies, Joan and Cliff Ewell, Larry and Meg Davies, Robert and Gayle Davies, Ellen and Bill Thompson, Laurel Perez, Pat and Paul Huntsman, Bert and Korena Davies, LaDawn and Mark Miller, Marcie and Mike Maloy, Jayne and Todd Sudweeks and Jim and Jody Davies. 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters. He is also served by 53 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. '

Grandpa was remembered with Full Military Rights. It was amazing to see the 21 gun solute in his honor. Here are some pictures, that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Wow, Where has all the time gone!?

Sorry it has been a long time since I last posted.. Man over a month!

During December it was a crazy month! I had so many photoshoots that I did not know what to do! You can check out the pictures at Photos By Tiff. I had so much fun. I now know why I love taking pictures! We had a wonderful Christmas. The kids got spoiled rotten! We only had the kids for a few hours on Christmas day, so we picked them up, had Nanny, Papa, Freat Granny and Great Grandpa come and watch the kids open their presents. Much to my surprise, I was opening presents too! Adam had asked me a few weeks before what I wanted for Christmas, I had given him my wish list. A few days before Christmas he said to me that we would have to get a lense after Christmas, because he didnt want to buy the wrong one! Oh how nice... =) Well, we were sitting down and my mom asked to see my camera. I didnt think anything of it, and then Adam hands me a box.. A HUGE box! with a million different boxes inside it! Oh and out come a new Lense! I was so excited. I cant wait to use it all the time now! So this lense you can see forever away! Thanks babe!

After opening presents the kids got to go to Grammys house and open presents from the cousins and Grammy. They had so much fun! After taking the kids back to their dads, we just chilled and did a whole lot of nothing!
Now to Dec 28th.. I started my diet... Well actually it officially started on Dec 30. Since then to today, I haev lost a total of 23 lbs! I am so excited. I cant wait until it is done and am able to fit into a swimming suit! Thanks mom for the idea!
Now we are into January and things have went back to normal. Harley in school and loving every minute of it. (She did not get that from me!) Oakley is a normal boy.. Into everything and wanting everything! We did get our wedding pics and yes Here are some for you to view! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Until next time.... Have a great weekend!

Just an update....
Well, it has been a great month and a half! The kids are adjusting and loving the new house..(new to us, not a NEW house!) We have been really busy, trying to make everything work for all of us.. Adjusting is crazy!
Harley is doing good in school, which she loves! (she is sooo not my kid...)
Oakley is having fun being at Christy's house and learning how to write his name..
Adam has started graveyards this past week... Talk about having to switch to another adjustment... Not so fun... He did not get to see the kids all last week.. It was killing him on Sunday to have to wait until 5pm.
I am still working and doing Photography. If you haven't looked at the blog yet, feel free to!

Friday Night.... Date Night....

On Friday, we decided to take the kids bowling. Harley was having a 'Late Night' with her friend, so she came with us. The two of them are best friends and do everything together.. By the end of the night they were calling each other 'Step-Sisters' it was so cute. They spend as much time away from school together as they do at school. (they are in the same class and sit right by each other!)

Oakley thought that it was so cool to sit and watch the ball roll down the lane. I bowled and got a gutter ball, so Oakley thought it was so neat that when he went to bowl, with the bumpers on, that he wanted a gutter ball. Needless to say, it got stuck a couple feet down the gutter. So cute!

My Friend Becky threw a Bridal Shower for me a couple weeks before the wedding.. Here are some pictures of us making our Wedding Dresses! I had a blast chatting with friends and seeing ones that I have not seen in FOREVER! I love all these girls that showed up and have always been there for me! Thanks girls for making it a great day!

So tonight, I am sitting here on the computer, editing pictures and talking to family.... (thanks Em!) And Oakley comes up to me and says... "Mom, I have a serious question" I start laughing and I said, Ok.... and then he asks, Can I write in this book? (it is a Toys R US add..) Yes, I say.. but tomorrow, go to bed....

Then five minutes later, he comes in again... "mom, I got to tell you something..." My tooth isnt loose, so it wont come out... What the heck? Where did that come from!?

Oakleys Room

Oakley wanted to have his NEW room in Cars! Who would have guessed? So I went to Walmart and bought him a comforter and some stickers that go on the wall.. I really wanted to go and get the border that goes on and the big MURAL to put on his wall.. That will have to come. So tonight I talked Adam into getting his bed into his room and start getting it ready for him. (yeah, we only have 26 more days...) So here are some pictures of his room. I will post more when it is all the way done. **Note he does have RED and ORANGE shag carpet!**

Oakley wanted to help put the stickers on his wall, and UGH dont look to close at me!
He even has his own TV! (thanks Cathy!) AND a cubby in his room. I think that we need to get him a ladder and let him put his toys in there?

While at Harleys birthday party, the adults took some of the tokens and played a few games. Adam decided that he was going to play Deal or No Deal. He was there for a long time, he must have played a couple times to get the game down! Well I walked over and saw him and Trent standing by the game. I could help taking a few pictures.. Hello! I needed pictures to blog!

So here are the two, really into the game!

OH yeah, he picked the case that had 3 tickets....

And then it was his turn to open his case... 200 Tickets! Woot Woot! He won the Jackpot... (now if it was only REAL MONEY!)And a picture of him and his winnings! Really, the adults had a blast! I think that next time we go, we leave the kids home with a babysitter and go by ourselves!
